Rescue boat picks up two boys from St Aubin beach

As the weather gets a little warmer, the Fire Service is warning islanders to check the tides before they go for a walk around the coast line.

They had to rescue two boys from the beach behind the Royal CI Yacht Club in St Aubin just after 19:25 last night.

Five firefighters launched the inshore rescue boat from Le Haule slipway to pick the boys up. The pair were with their dog, which managed to make its own way home. Neither was injured, but the fire service say the two boys were starting to feel the cold.

Richard Ryan, watch commander, said: “With summer on its way, we would like to remind the public of beach safety and checking tide times before adventuring out to enjoy the Jersey coast lines."
