Chordz swaps the daily grind for a slice of the action

Tuesday 07 November 2023

Chordz Coffee House has closed its doors after 10 years, making space for a new pizzeria promising "quirky decor, beer on draft and damn good grub".

Posting on social media, owner Charlie Northedge admitted he was "sad" to see Chordz go but added that he was "super excited" to open 'Red House' – his "new and (hopefully) improved coffee bar and pizzeria".

He explained: "Red House is still very much a coffee shop and will be open from the early hours of the morning, but in addition to great coffee and delicious baked goods we will also be serving some pretty awesome pizzas... and even booze!"

The new Bath Street pizzeria will have an alcohol license and is set to open late from Wednesday to Saturday.

"In true Chordz style, you can expect some quirky decor, beer on draft and damn good grub," added Charlie.

Encouraging islanders to "come give us a whirl", the Red House owner pleaded with customers to "be gentle with us for the first week or so while we find our feet".

"We may burn the odd pizza!" he joked.

Red House is set to open in the new few weeks.
