Rubbish-grabbers at the ready! An annual initiative to tidy up some of the Island’s beauty spots takes place this weekend.
The fourth ecoJersey Parish Clean-Up is scheduled for Sunday 25 June, when volunteers will muster at seven different locations scattered across the Island.
Local businesses Affinity Private Wealth, Channel Islands Co-op, Jersey Electricity, Quilter Cheviot and Rathbones are sponsoring the event, which has been organised by All Island Media, parent company of Express and the JEP.
All Island Media Chief Executive James Filleul said: “We want to make a positive impact on the environment and create a cleaner, greener space for everyone to enjoy – we hope there will be a great turnout, so would encourage attendees to bring their friends and family.”
Volunteers are asked to bring reusable gloves and rubbish grabbers to minimise any negative environmental impact, but these ‘tools of the trade’ will also be available to those who need them.
Old clothes are a must, as well as suitable accessories to cope with the weather conditions – this could include sun screen, hats or rain jackets.
The event will run from 10am to 12pm, with an organiser at each meeting point. Full details, including the seven parish locations, are available here.
