Cyclist who died in Grouville crash is named

The cyclist who died in a road accident in Grouville on Monday has been named as 70-year-old Gaynor Bidel.

The islander died in hospital following a collision with a car near the Iceland store on Rue à Don.

The crash, which involved a silver Volkswagen Golf driven by a 79-year-old man, took place between 09:40 and 09:50am on 5 June 2023.

The car driver was also taken to hospital.

In a statement today, police said Ms Bidel's family were being supported by specialist officers.

They added: "Our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time."

Police have said they are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen what happened, as well as any drivers who were driving in the area at that time or those who may have dash-cam footage relevant to the investigation.
