Delays expected as work on Harbour path begins

Saturday 18 November 2017

Construction of a new path for pedestrians and cyclists next to the English Harbour begins on Monday.

There is currently a continual off-road pathway all the way from St Aubin to Havre des Pas, except for stretches adjacent to the English and French harbours.

The Infrastructure Department (DfI) plans to deal with this by constructing the new path along the English harbour and, subject to planning permission, a boardwalk over the French harbour.

To enable the work to take place, one lane of the road will be closed and traffic managed with temporary lights. The lane closure will be in place 24 hours a day, but vehicles will still be able to access premises. The work is due to be completed by 22 December.

Deputy Eddie Noel, Minister for Infrastructure said, “We received a lot of positive feedback when we consulted on this project earlier this year. I am pleased we are now able to get this project underway. I am sure it will be of great benefit to both pedestrians and cyclists.”
