Disability charity hosts festive carol service

Saturday 09 December 2023

Residents and service users of a local disability charity hope to spread festive cheer and put a smile on people's faces as they bring their annual Christmas carol service to the Town Church this afternoon.

Islanders are invited to join the celebration which will feature the Les Amis choir, as well as a staff and community band.

This event will raise money for the charity to continue to support individuals with learning disabilities and provide residential care.

The service will start at 15:00, with refreshments being served afterwards in the church hall.

The Les Amis choir will be wearing Christmas tops produced by a print workshop run by islanders with disabilities – the Beresford Street Kitchen Printworks team, where several Les Amis service users work.

They will also be accompanied by Malcolm L’Amy on the organ.

The residents have been rehearsing since October to perform for the charity's patrons, Lieutenant-Governor Vice Admiral Jerry Kyd, and his wife, Dr Karen Kyd.
