While voters in St. John won’t be going to the polls to elect their Constable - the current post-holder Chris Taylor was returned unopposed - they are going to have to elect a new Deputy.
Because the parish’s current Deputy, Tracey Vallois, is going for Senator, whichever of the two candidates voters elect is going to be another of the ‘new’ faces in the States.
The two candidates for the one post are Nigel Philpott and Trevor Pointon.
All parishioners in St John – like parishioners across the island – will also have the opportunity to choose up to eight senators from a list of 17 candidates. Voting will be at the parish hall. Election day is Wednesday 16 May.

Monday: St Mary.
