Costly night out ruins mum's Christmas

Friday 12 December 2014

A mum-of-two who had her coat and only set of car keys taken on a night out clubbing says it has ruined her Christmas.

Jacquee Eve has had to fork out hundreds of pounds at an already expensive time of the year for a replacement key to be made so that she can drive her toddler twins around.

The full-time mum was on a night out at the Havana Club in Halkett Street last Friday with her sister who was visiting her from Kenya and had put her coat down on a chair so that they could go and have a quick dance.

Police officers are now reviewing the club’s CCTV to see who took Jacquee’s distinctive pale blue hooded coat together with her only set of car keys.

She had to get her car towed out of town at the beginning of the week and appealed on social media for the culprit to hand her keys in to police because it was proving so expensive to get a new set made because of the make and model of her car.

It’s now cost Jacquee almost £400 for a new set - her sister chipped in some of her holiday money to help pay for them.
