Islanders were urged to avoid the La Collette area yesterday evening due to a fire at the incinerator.
Emergency Services were at the Energy from Waste plant from around 16:00 on Wednesday.
Roads were closed for safety, and pedestrians were urged to avoid the area.
Part of the Havre des Pas promenade leading up to the commercial site was closed.
Officers said the incident was wrapped up and the area reopened by around quarter to six.
No one was injured.
