The Jersey Football Association’s CEO is stepping down from the role at the end of the season, it has been announced.
Jean-Luc Desbois informed the Association of his decision earlier this week, after two years at its helm.
Mr Desbois has been described as “instrumental” in instigating the merger between the JFA and the Jersey Football Combination and during his time in charge, credit has been paid to him for securing a number of major sponsorship deals to fund local clubs.

Commenting on his colleague’s departure, JFA President Bradley Vowden said: “I’d like to thank Jean-Luc for his strong leadership of our organisation over the past few years. His enthusiasm for the game, business skills and round-the-clock work ethic make him a hard act to follow.
“The JFA has made huge strides forward during his tenure and the board would like to thank him for everything he has done, and continues to do, for local football.”
The recruitment process to find Mr Desbois’ successor will begin imminently.
Speaking about his time with the Association, Mr Desbois added: “I’ve enjoyed working directly with the island’s football community and I’m proud of the work our staff and volunteers do each and every day to develop and support the game.”
He continued: ““I will stay on until the summer to aid the recruitment process, complete several ongoing projects and to oversee the preparation for the home Muratti matches as well as our second Jacksons International tournament. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to work in football and would like to thank the board for their full support and trust during my employment”.
