Football tribute to Clinton Pringle

Monday 25 July 2016

The funeral of three-year-old Clinton Pringle, who died after the toddler collided with a van near St Helier’s Millenium Town Park last month, was held on Friday in Glasgow.

An hour long celebration of Clinton’s short but eventful life was held at a venue in the east end of Glasgow.

Family and friends were amongst over 600 people in attendance at the service with many of them also moving on to Bedlay Cemetery at Moodiesburn on the north-east outskirts of the city where the youngster was buried.

Clinton’s parents Michael and Stacey and his aunt Melissa, who lives in Jersey, led heartfelt and moving tributes to the football-mad youngster.

Mr Pringle took the opportunity to again thank medical staff and the people of Jersey for their help and assistance since the death of his son.

Floral tributes included the three-year-old’s favourites such as Paw Patrol, Peter Pan and Thomas the train, with others spelling out his name and his favourite saying “wee hug.”

The following day Celtic supporters also paid tribute to Clinton - whose organs including his heart were donated - during the Glasgow team’s match against Leicester City at Parkhead when they unveiled a giant banner (pictured below) picturing him with his dad along with a message banner which read: “Clinton the bravest little lion with the biggest heart.”
