Fraudsters have been posing as Jersey Electricity workers on the phone in order to steal personal information, islanders are being warned.
In an alert issued this afternoon, the utility company reminded customers that it does "not arrange unsolicited home visits via telephone".
It also urged islanders not to "provide personal information or agree to services from unsolicited callers", and asked that. customers contact them directly through official channels for any service or maintenance queries".
"Your security is our priority. Help us keep our community safe by reporting any suspicious activities to us and the local authorities," they said.
It's the second scam alert this week.
On Wednesday, Police said they were receiving a "high number of calls" regarding a text message purporting to be from HSBC.
The fraudulent text read: "'HS-BC payment of £395 was attempted to cryptocom, reply Y if this was you if not reply N and you will receive a call shortly.'"
Officers urged islanders not to reply to the message and to block any numbers associated with the messages.
Anyone who thinks they may have been targeted by fraudsters, or fallen victim to a scam, is urged to report it to the States of Jersey Police on 612612.
