A fundraiser to install defibrillators in St Brelade's Bay has been launched by two watersports companies looking to address the shortage of life-saving devices in the area.
Absolute Adventure and Jono's Watersports are hoping to raise £4,000 to cover the cost of installing two defibrillators, securing cabinets, five-year batteries and pads.
One device will be placed at the western end of St Brelade's Bay near Solshine Cafe and the Oyster Box restaurant, and the other will be located at eastern end by The Beach Club restaurant.

Any additional funds be donated to local charity Heart Support Group to contribute to improving cardiac care on the island.
Absolute Adventure’s Sean Kinsella said: “We have recognised the need for a public defibrillator in our areas as it is the most visual area for people to see it.

“The only other defibrillator within the Bay Area is in the hotels or church, which is too far from the beach and also needs to be discovered by the general public.
“Having a public defibrillator in public areas will give the general public awareness that it's there to be used and can potentially save a life.”
Jono’s Watersports’ Jonathan Steventon added: “There have been two scenarios where you have had unfortunate situations on the beach and time is of the essence to get to somebody.
“Having a defibrillator at each end of the bay is great to have that little bit of reassurance that life could be saved so that people know where they are.”
