Forecast looks like good weather for cruising

Thursday 06 August 2015

The weather is looking good for those out on the water over the next few days and that's great news for the thousands of visitors who have been cruising into Jersey this week.

A number of big liners have been sailing in including the Ocean Princess - a huge 11-deck vessel which anchored in St Helier on Sunday, the 'Voyager' that arrived yesterday and the 'Crystal Serenity' which is due to cruise in to the Island tomorrow.

And with light winds forecast for the next five days, force 2 or 3, it should be plain sailing for them.

Jersey Met's Duty Forecaster said: "The weather is a little bit changebale, we’ve still got a little bit of rain to come over the next few days. It looks like today will be mainly dry with a few spits early doors. Friday there may be one of two showers around but the pressure is going to rise for the weekend and we should see a decent amount of sunshine with temperatures average or marginally above - low 20's so nothing special but only light winds so both Saturday and Sunday are looking quite good."

The Ocean Princess is due back in the Island next Monday and again on Tuesday 18 August.
