Grand Easter Bunny hops off to hospital

Friday 25 March 2016

Families spending Easter in the hospital will be tucking in to some special treats this weekend thanks to one local hotel.

The Easter Bunny will be hopping off from the Grand Hotel to deliver a basket full of goodies to families with babies in the Special Care Baby Unit.

For the past two years Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa has been supporting Friends of SCBU - the local charity dedicated to raising funds for the Island's Special Care Baby Unit that provides essential treatment for premature and sick babies in the Island.

During that time the hotel and guests have raised over £10,000 and the hotel will continue supporting the charity throughout 2016.

Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa General Manager Martin Kelly said: “We are working with Friends of SCBU on a range of events, some are primarily to raise funds for this very worthy local cause, others to raise awareness and some simply to offer those families who are using the unit a little something to make them smile at what is obviously a difficult time for them.

“We also want to recognise and reward the SCBU team for all the amazing work they do and the on-going support they provide to so many island families, so we have some surprises arranged for them in the coming months too.”
