Heroin case to be heard in Royal Court

Tuesday 31 January 2017

Jersey's Royal Court is to hear the case of a 42-year-old man charged in connection with the seizure £55,000 worth of heroin in December.

Jose Manuel Ferraz Figueira appeared in the Magistrate's Court yesterday.

The Magistrate, Bridget Shaw, described the charges as being “...too serious to be dealt with” by the her Court.

Although the accused didn’t make any application for it, bail was refused as it had previously been.

Mr Figueira should be notified of his first appearance in the Royal Court in the next couple of weeks.
