Inquest into Corbière cliff death due to open

Friday 12 April 2024

An inquest into the death of an elderly woman who died in an incident at Corbière is due to be opened next week.

84-year-old Ann Robins died from her injuries on Sunday 7 April after the vehicle she was in fell from the cliff edge.

All three emergency services attended the incident at Corbière public car park at around 17:00.

A black Suzuki Swift was found on its roof over the cliff edge.

In a statement earlier this week, police named Ms Robins as the elderly woman who had died in the incident.

An inquest into her death is set to open on Monday.

Police also confirmed that the second female occupant of the car was treated in hospital for her injuries, and was in a stable condition.

The family of Ms Robins is being supported by specialist officers, and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.

Anyone who may have seen this incident or who has any information is asked to contact police on 612612, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
