Around 100 filmgoers missed out on the end of their films last night after they were evacuated from the cinema when a fire alarm went off.
The Jersey Fire and Rescue Service were called out to Cineworld on the Waterfront at 8.20 pm to find the fire alarm going off in the lobby.
Luckily, it was just a false alarm but it meant everyone missed the end of their movies.
They’ve been offered complimentary tickets to catch their film’s ending another time.
One evacuated family who had gone to watch Jungle Book praised the staff for their handling of the situation - but missed out on the end of their movie by just five minutes.
Jersey Fire and Rescue Service Duty Manager Jason Masterman said that the fire alarm had been activated in the ceiling void and that after assessing the situation, they left the Cineworld staff to deal with it.
