A Jersey actor who shot to soap superstardom in Eastenders is up for a national film award.
Jonny Labey who is best known for playing Paul Coker in the soap has been nominated for ‘most promising newcomer’ at the Moet British Independent Film Awards for his role in British gay feature film ‘Soft Lad.'
Jonny stars as a 22-year-old dancer who has an affair with a married man - his sister's husband.
The actor tweeted to say he’s “stunned and blessed” to be one of the top 12 nominees up for the awards that identify and encourage emerging talent.
Jonny got his big break last summer when he became Albert Square's new heart-throb - the fun loving grandson of undertakers Les and Pam.
