A pair of department store workers will be playing four complete rounds of golf in a single day - walking around 25km and hitting 800 shots - to raise money for a children's charity tomorrow.
Marcus Meadows and John Marquis' hoped their 'golf marathon', which starts at 05:00 tomorrow, would generate £1,500 for the NSPCC - but they have already beaten their target.
Outlining the epic golfing challenge at La Moye Golf Club and Les Mielles, the pair explained they'll have an early start.
“We'll start just after 05:00 for round 1 and, assuming that we've taken enough golf balls with us, we should finish sometime between 20:30 and 21:00," they said.
"By the end, we would’ve been on a golf course for around 16 hours of the day."
Ahead of smashing their target, they thanked everyone that had contributed so far and said: "Our target of £1,500 would do amazing things for NSPCC Jersey, so if you can, please help us to help the children and families who need it most.”

Marcus and John both work for De Gruchy, which nominated NSPCC as its chosen charity for 2021.
Explaining how important the charity is, both men said: “The NSPCC is the leading children's charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. They help children who have been abused to rebuild their lives, protect those at risk, and find the best ways of preventing abuse from ever happening. Every child deserves the best possible chance to rebuild their life after abuse. That’s what they do. That's what drives their work. That’s why – as long as there’s abuse – they will fight for every childhood. And that's why all of us at de Gruchy are supporting NSPCC Jersey this year.
“We’ll be doing more throughout the year to raise additional funds so please follow De Gruchy’s social media channels to keep up to date with our progress.”

Sara Clews, the NSPCC's Head of Development and Partnerships for Jersey, described the pair's efforts on the challenge that will "test their resilience and stamina for nearly a whole day" as "absolutely incredible and inspirational to us all."
She continued: “The NSPCC relies on public donations for 90% of its income. By raising money for the NSPCC, you could help us be there for children when they feel they have no one else to turn to. A child contacts Childline every 25 seconds (with around 400 calls from Jersey last year) and it costs £4 to answer their call for help; £25 pays for one hour of our highly trained children’s practitioners. So, do give Marcus and John your support this weekend.”
