The Jersey Kids Triathlon is hoping to welcome 700 children to the start line next month to raise £25,000 for a local blood cancer charity.

The event is set to take place at Les Quennevais Sports Centre on Saturday 8 June.

Children aged six to 13 will swim, cycle and run their way around the sports centre in aid of the Jersey branch of Blood Cancer UK.

Marking the 11th year of the event, financial consultancy firm Vistra Jersey will return as the triathlon's main sponsor.

Children of any ability are encouraged to enter and are assured by Vistra that there are "no winners or losers".

Entrants will be able to access expert support from volunteers at Jersey Junior Tri Stars Club, Jersey Swimming Club, Jersey Cycling Association Youth Academy, and Jersey Park Run.

Jonathan Ferrara, Regional Managing Director for Vistra Jersey, said: "We are honoured to sponsor the Jersey Kids’ Triathlon in support of Blood Cancer UK – Jersey Branch, reaffirming our dedication to our local community.

"Not only is this a great cause, it is a perfect opportunity for kids to engage in sports in a fun and non-competitive environment, cheered on by their friends and family.

"We eagerly anticipate another triumphant event, amplifying awareness and resources for Blood Cancer UK – Jersey Branch to advance their vital research and support endeavours in combating blood cancers."

Organisers are hoping for 700 children from Year 2 to Year 8 to be at the start line, with the overall aim of raising £25,000 for charity.
