Jersey National Trust elects new President

Sunday 13 August 2017

The National Trust for Jersey has elected Georgina Malet de Carteret as its new President for the next three years.

Having read History of Art at Manchester University, Georgina has always been interested in art and architecture.

She has worked for art collectors as well as Southeby’s Auctioneers in the Indian and Islamic Art department.

From 2001, Georgina worked in the Prince of Wales’ Charities Office at Clarence House.

Georgina has been a Council member of the National Trust for Jersey for three years and is a great admirer of its achievements. She said: “Jersey is a beautiful island with diverse landscapes, seascapes and historic buildings. The work of the Trust is invaluable in helping promote and protect these for generations to come.”

As well as Georgina’s appointment as President, the Trust has also elected Antony Gibb and Graham Boxall as Vice Presidents.
