Roaring the changes

Sunday 21 October 2018

The Lions Club of Jersey is roaring the changes with a new President.

Mike Berry, who has been a member of the community serving organisation since 2015, will take on the top role across 2018 and 2019.

Hereford-born Mike works at intellectual property firm Spoor & Fisher. He has four children with his wife Mary, a Beaulieu School physics teacher. Though a passionate sportsman, he mostly prefers viewing events, but does enjoy a spot of golf.

But his interests don't stop there: Mike enjoys taking part in local amateur dramatics, and is also treasurer of the Jersey Association for Youth & Friendship (JAYF) which provides sheltered accommodation for young people who might otherwise be homeless through no fault of their own.

Speaking of the latest feather in his cap, he said: "It really is a privilege to be part of an active club that serves the community with such vigour and enthusiasm. I hope to reflect that this year, as a representative of our local club and, indeed, as a member of the wider network of Lions Clubs International."
