Could you deal with an armed assailant, or keep a loved one safe from harm? Would you know when to walk away from a confrontation, or recognise when violence becomes the only answer?
Eyal Yanilov was the closest assistant to Imi Lichtenfeld, the founder of Krav Maga, a comprehensive system encompassing self defence, combat and fighting, and third-party protection.
Its practical techniques and tactics can be applied to a wide range of violent confrontations, and are being taught by more than 1,500 active instructors globally.

Mr Yanilov recently came to the island and taught a seminar at the invitation of Jersey Krav Maga.
But first, he stopped by the studio to speak to Express about everything from knife defence to mental training, and why Krav Maga is something that everyone should learn.

Jersey Krav Maga was founded in 2018 by chief instructor Richard Collett.
Mr Collett, who completed his instructor course nearly a decade ago, said it was "fantastic" to finally welcome the highest ranked Krav Maga master to the island.
He continued: "The first time I met Eyal was in 2016, I have done several courses with him and I always attend his camps – so for me it's not unique to train with him but for everyone else here it's an amazing opportunity.
"That's the beauty of it for me, being able to share the source of Krav Maga with these guys."

Mr Collett added: "He [Eyal] was Imi's protégé and he worked with Imi to create the first civilian syllabus and take that out to the rest of the world.
"Since then there's been a couple of revisions but Eyal still stays true to Imi's original style of teaching Krav Maga.
"So we are following the source, from the founder through his number one student."
