Despite being a small dot off the coast of France, Jersey has a rich history with its own myths and legends, many of them unsurprisingly connected to the sea.
Tales of black dogs, dragons and fantastical bridges to Normandy have all been told over the centuries, with many stories leaving traces in modern place names and references.
Published historian Paul Darroch latest project is to unravel some of the myths and legends that have captivated islanders for hundreds of years.
His aim is not only to retell the narrative but to try to explain the story behind these stories to find out what do they tell us about ourselves and the community we belong to.
In the latest Bailiwick Podcast, Mr Darroch shares some of the stories and insights which make up his latest work.
