Musicians and makers gather for sustainable Christmas market

Local produce and last-minute gifts will be on offer today as part of a sustainable Christmas market, complete with live music, warm waffles, mulled drinks and even a pottery wheel.

The green festive shopping event is taking place between 10:00 and 18:00 on Saturday 18 December at SCOOP (the Sustainable Cooperative), which is based at La Bienvenue Farm in St. Lawrence.

The team will be serving warm waffles, mulled drinks and wholesome organic food throughout the day and local musicians will be lending their voices to keep the atmosphere festive.

The Songwriters Society will be taking to the mic with music from Annie Law, 1 Poet, Phoebe OverAxon BowerKevin Pallot, Drew Goodwin, Kailee McGuire, Maxi Milian and possibly one or two others.

For those wishing to learn new skills ahead of the New Year, they will have the opportunity to try their hand at a potter's wheel with a local potter.

A number of local makers and producers will be there for the market, offering botanical soaps, skincare, tea leaves, various crafts as well as local produce such as tea leaves, herbs, chocolates and beers.

The list of participants includes Bang Bang, Gaia and Moon, Jersey Tea Company, Manomara, Forge Farm, Jersey Seaweed Company, Cromwell Crafts, Mariposa Creative, La Cote Distillery, Stinky Bay, Bliss Brewery, Madd Beard Company, Joy Woodcraft, Kali-Ma Raw Chocolates, Herbes de St. Pierre and KTea Kombucha, with further makers represented in the shop.

The SCOOP Cheese Deli will also be open and a charity table will be available for those making for good causes.
