Local photographer appeals to single mums

A Jersey photographer is offering single mums a free photoshoot with her family ahead of Mother's Day on March 26.

Sophie Winter is appealing to Jersey single mums in a bid to get them in the spotlight.

The photographer launched the appeal on International Women's Day with Mother's Day as a deadline.

"It's really just my way of giving a single mum the opportunity to let me capture her beautiful bond with her children. It's particularly hard for single parents to have decent images of them together because there isn't someone there to photograph it for them. They sometimes only have selfies with their children or only a couple of pictures with all their children together. I'm just trying to do a nice thing for them", Ms Winter explained.

The photographer, who comes from a single mum family, added:  "It's just my way of celebrating International Women's Day and Mother's Day and honouring those ladies that are bringing up their babies on their own - they're all super heroes in my eyes!"
