The Government's HQ is closed today due to damage caused to the roof by Storm Alex.
Office staff who are usually based at Broad Street are now working from home or alternative premises, a spokesperson confirmed.
The winds of up to Force 9 also delivered difficulties for Jersey’s mail plane last night and this morning, thwarting several attempts to land.

The aircraft had been due to arrive in Jersey from the East Midlands yesterday evening, but, after two attempts to touch down, it had to return to the UK.
It then made another attempt today, but a Ports of Jersey spokesperson confirmed: “This morning weather conditions has also prevented the aircraft from landing as yet and has diverted back to UK.”
It wasn’t the only flight to face disruption amid the severe gales.

Condor also took the decision to cancel its sailings and placed its weekend sailings under review.
The storm has also caused travel difficulties on local roads.

Due to high waves and debris coming over the sea wall, Victoria Avenue was closed early this morning.
Police also warned islanders to ensure their furniture is secured and windows closed, adding: “Stay in if you don’t need to be outside and if you are take care especially on the roads.”
Jersey Met has issued a ‘red’ weather warning for strong winds of up to Force 9 - potentially later reaching Force 10 - and heavy rain.
The strongest wind recorded so far was at the harbour between 06:00 and 07:00, with the highest gust at 61mph.

Forecasters have suggested that Jersey could see a month’s worth of rainfall before Sunday.
Overnight, Jersey Met recorded 31.4mm of rainfall at Maison St Louis and 28mm at the Airport.
