Man admits biting woman's finger

A 43-year-old man has pleaded guilty to biting a woman’s finger and putting his hands around her neck.

Christopher John Adams will be sentenced for one charge of grave and criminal assault on 29 April in the Royal Court.

The incident took place on 9 November 2020 in the victim’s home.

Advocate Francesca Pinel, who was representing Adams, entered a guilty plea on his behalf, on a basis which was agreed by the Crown. 

Crown Advocate Chris Baglin sought for Adams to be remanded in custody until his sentencing. 

Advocate Pinel opposed the move arguing that her client had complied with all his bail conditions, which include a curfew and wearing a restrictive electronic tag, since the offence. She also said he hadn’t committed any further offences and attended all hearings he should.

The Court also heard that Adams had not committed any offences over the last 20 years.

The Court agreed to allow Adams to remain on bail but warned him to follow all his bail conditions until his sentencing on 29 April.
