A 73-year-old man has admitted making 7,910 indecent photographs of children under the age of 16 on his laptop between 2013 and 2018.
Graham Thomas Storer, of Cardiff, appeared in Royal Court on Friday facing one charge of making indecent photographs of children.
He is defended by Advocate Giles Emanuel.
He will be sentenced on 10 September before the Superior Number, which only sits for the most serious offences and impose sentences of over four years.
Mr Storer will stay in custody in the meantime.
