Man to face trial for alleged historic sex offences on child

Saturday 18 February 2017

A fifty-year-old man will go on trial later this year, accused of raping a child on three occasions in the early 00s.

The charges form part of a number of allegations that were brought against Martin James Jegou in the Royal Court on Friday.

Mr Jegou - formerly known as Martin James Ridgway Richardson - also stands accused of six indecent assaults on a girl between 1997 and 2003, and one count of unlawful intercourse in 2003. He denies all charges.

Bailiff William Bailhache, presiding, remanded Mr Jegou on bail and he will face trial on the 24th July.
