A 40-year-old man has been charged with murdering a former honorary policewoman, who died from stab wounds earlier this week.
London-born Andrew Charles Nisbet, of Le Grupe, Les Grupieaux, St. Peter, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court at 15:45 this afternoon, where he was formally indicted for the murder of Pamela Margaret Nisbet (68).
He was subsequently remanded in custody by Magistrate Bridget Shaw, presiding, and will reappear in court for a committal hearing in September.
Wearing a loose white T-shirt, Mr Nisbet - who was represented by Advocate Mark Boothman - spoke only to confirm his name, address and age.
St. Peter Chef de Police, Centenier Joao Camara, read the single charge that on 6 August 2019 at the address known as Le Grupe, Les Grupieaux in the Parish of St Peter, Andrew Charles Nisbet murdered Pamela Margaret Nisbet.
Although no bail application was made, Advocate Matthew Maletroit for the Crown, opposed bail and Mr Nisbet was remanded in custody for six weeks to 20 September with a video hearing to take place on 6 September.
