A 41-year-old Jerseyman has died while being held on remand over the weekend.
According to the Police, Simon Baudains was in La Moye prison on Sunday when he was taken to the General Hospital for medical assessment at midday.
The Police say he died a short time later and his family and and the Deputy Viscount have been informed.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of his death.
Police are not releasing any further information at the moment.
