Crack open the Champagne, climb into a stretch Limo, book a suite in your favourite hotel and plan the most elaborate party you can imagine - if you have number 2703 in this year's Jersey Hospice Care Lottery, then you've just made a lot of money.
It's the winning number, taking the lion's share of the £1.3m prize fund. Following the draw a few moments ago, other prizes of £100,000, £75,000, £50,000, £25,000 and five prizes of £10,000 will go to numbers: 6274(£100,000) 3726 (£75,000) 6657 (£50,000) 2250 (£25,000) 6877, 4445, 2307, 2569, 6942 (£10000). Fittingly, a team of volunteers from Clarkson House, which is where the Hospice is based, scooped the £50,000 prize.
The 6,000 available tickets for Jersey Hospice Care’s Million Pound Lottery, costing £300 apiece were a sell out, offering a one in 600 chance of winning at least £10,000 as well as the cool million.
The funds raised will cover the charity’s Community Bereavement Service, Day Hospice and Therapy Services for an entire year.
Jersey Hospice Care's Chief Executive Emelita Robbins said: "The Million Pound Lottery is our biggest fundraiser of the year. As well as giving away £1.3 million, it raises £500,000 for Jersey Hospice Care. This helps us to provide our range of services to patients with life limiting conditions and give support to their families, free of charge."
