A new date and location has been confirmed for a postponed celebratory service marking the 100th birthday of a former Beaulieu headteacher.

The rescheduled 100th birthday mass for Sister Marie Louise will now take place on Friday 4 October from 18:30 to 19:45 at St Mark's Church in St Helier.

The service was originally due to be held last week at St Mary and St Peter's Church, but it was postponed due to "the severe weather and subsequent water and electrical damage" to the church building

In a statement announcing the new date and location, Beaulieu Convent School said: "We are so grateful to Peter Clayton and the team at St Mark's for hosting this special mass.

"St Mark's has the inbuilt technological facilities required to deliver the tribute we have planned; this includes the ability to livestream and record this meaningful and memorable celebration of Sister's remarkable leadership and legacy.

"We look forward to seeing many of Beaulieu Convent's past pupils, parents, staff and supporters at this important occasion."

Over 300 people are expected to attend the celebration to mark the 100th birthday of Sister Marie Louise, who joined Beaulieu in 1958 as a teacher.

She later served as headteacher for 39 years, overseeing the expansion of the convent school.

You can reserve a free space at the celebratory service via Eventbrite.

There will be limited parking available at St Thomas' Church, and members of the congregation are also welcome to park at Beaulieu School and walk down.

Refreshments will be available in St Mark's Cafe after the mass for a chance to chat and reminisce.
