Pet-friendly cabins to be added to Commodore Clipper

Monday 29 January 2024

Six pet-friendly cabins are to be created on the Commodore Clipper, following the success of a similar service on the Condor Islander.

The cabins, which will have a laminated floor and access to an outside deck for exercise, are expected to be available for the summer season.

Pets can still be carried in a vehicle or appropriate carrier on the car deck on Clipper, Islander, along with Condor Liberation and Condor Voyager.

John Napton, Condor’s Chief Executive, said: "We are seeing more pet travel in recent years and the reaction from passengers travelling on Islander has been overwhelmingly positive, so we have listened and are now extending this to Clipper.

"Our figures show that in 2019, we carried 12,700 pets on our routes from the UK to Jersey and Guernsey and inter-island, whereas in 2022 that figure had soared to 16,600, an increase of 30%."
