Plans submitted for 87 new homes on Rouge Bouillon

Friday 24 March 2017

A planning application has been submitted for 87 'affordable' homes on the Summerland Factory site, which has just been vacated by the Police, on Rouge Bouillon.

The development includes 80 one-to-three-bedroom apartments for social housing as well as seven three-bedroom townhouses. Within the last few weeks Jersey Police have moved to their new headquarters on the Green Street roundabout.

A previous application was submitted, and approved in April 2016. It included 85 apartments and nine townhouses.

But as well as being for fewer homes, the revised development will also not exceed five-storeys, dropping to four storeys where they are close to neighbouring buildings.

The townhouses will be built facing north and will all benefit from a roof terrace. At the front, there will also be a shared landscaped courtyard. The plans also include 72 semi-basement parking spaces with access from Rouge Bouillon.
