Police arrest teens in connection with Off The Rails break-in

Wednesday 14 April 2021

Police have made several arrests in connection with a break-in at the Off The Rails restaurant in St. Brelade in the early hours of Monday.

Officers have so far identified six suspects, who are all aged between 14 and 15.

A police spokesperson added: “Several of these suspects have already been arrested, interviewed and bailed while further enquiries continue.

“Those outstanding, will be brought in for questioning shortly.”

Masked intruders took professional kitchen knives, iPads and tills and vandalised the Railway Walk-based pizza and tapas restaurant between 01:30 and 16:00 on Monday.

As they left, they cut cameras and switched off the power, defrosting freezers and fridges, leaving a significant amount of stock to perish.

The restaurant described it as a “horrific burglary” on its Facebook page.

Both the restaurant and the kiosk serving the Elephant Park have been forced to close this week.
