Drones, helicopters and search dogs have all been employed in the search for an islander who hasn't been seen since Friday morning.

48-year-old Richard Romeril was last seen leaving his home address in St John at around 08:30 on Friday 8 September.

Police said it was known that Mr Romeril went to B&Q later that morning at 09:45, where he purchased an orange bucket and other items.

His vehicle, a black Kia Sportage, was located at Noirmont Point at around 14:00 on Friday.

Mr Romeril is described as a white male, 5ft 3in, stocky build with short receding dark hair and moustache.

He was last seen wearing a brown/orange t-shirt, light brown shoes, dark socks and now understood to be wearing blue denim jeans.

Police officers and members of Jersey Fire and Rescue have been involved in the search, and a helicopter was also used over the weekend.

The Force would like to speak to anyone who may have seen Mr Romeril or a male matching his description, or his black Kia Sportage since Friday.

Police are also appealing for anyone in the parish of St Brelade, – n particular the areas of Ouaisne, Noirmont and Portelet – with private CCTV, doorbell cameras, dash-cam footage or any ‘Honesty Box’ veg stalls with CCTV to get in touch. 

Residents living in these areas are also being asked to check their gardens, fields, sheds and out-buildings for any sign of Mr Romeril.
