Police are still on the hunt for a man who ran off after crashing a car he had stolen at the weekend.

Emergency services used a drone with a thermal imaging camera to search for him following the crash at Bel Royal yesterday morning.

Police were called by paramedics at 07:40 to reports of a white Suzuki Carry on its side near Bel Royal School.

The driver had been chased by a member of the public towards Le Providence and Le Marais Farm. Police don't know how badly hurt he was but say the state of the vehicle suggests he could be injured.

Police describe him as,"...being in his late twenties/early thirties, approximately 5’4” tall, of medium build, with short black hair and wearing a dark red check shirt & dark trousers.'

The car had been stolen from the car park at St Peter’s Garden Centre a short time earlier before crashing at the entrance of Rue de Haut, having hit two other cars and a granite wall.

Anyone who knows this man, or where he is, is asked to call the Police on 612 612 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
