Staff at Jersey Post have hit their £20,000 fundraising target for Macmillan Cancer Support (Jersey).

The staff set the target for 2014 and worked throughout the year to hit it, with a bake-off, a boxing evening, a skydive, a scheme to donate an hour’s salary and many more events besides.

The company also sponsored the four-day Macmillan Jersey Cycle Challenge in Italy last September that raised a staggering £85,000.

And you can help keep the support running throughout this year by dropping off any used stamps at any Post Office – all money raised will go to the charity.

Catherine Gasston, Marketing Manager at Jersey Post, said: “Staff at every level in our business worked hard in 2014 to contribute to our chosen charity, either through supporting fundraising initiatives, such as the ‘donate-an-hour’s salary’, or through helping to raise awareness of our partnership and the work that Macmillan Jersey do within our community with our company-wide Go Green Day in May.

“Whilst overall the aim of the partnership was to raise £20,000 for Macmillan over the course of 2014, more importantly for us, it was about leveraging our infrastructure to help Macmillan Jersey with its own objectives for the year.”

The company will keep supporting Macmillian all through this year, but the staff will be picking a new charity for 2016.
