Jersey's new field hospital is to receive donations of clothing packages from M&S so that its patients have “some comfort and normality” when they’re discharged.

The major retailer will be supporting the new Millbrook-based facility, built to provide extra capacity for treating patients suffering with covid-19, by sourcing, packing and delivering the clothing bundles.

This mirrors the partnership between M&S and the NHS in the UK.

The care packs each contain a t-shirt or jumper, jogging bottoms, underwear and socks – all available in a range of sizes – in hopes that “the clothing will help provide patients with some comfort and normality when they are discharged.”

It follows the decision by the major retailer to introduce special shopping hours for frontline health and social care workers at their outlet in King Street.
