Town drivers could get driven round the bend over the next two weekends, with closures planned while West Park roundabout area gets its first revamp in 34 years.
But States maintenance officials hope the resurfacing works will be well worth it, resulting in a smoother future ride along the area for islanders.
Resurfacing work on West Park Roundabout and the eastern end of Victoria Avenue will begin on 15 September.
They will continue for the rest of the weekend, and then on the following one, 22 and 23 September.

There will also be lane closures on the Avenue and the link road from the roundabout to the Avenue in the evening of the 17/18 September.
The main diversion routes will be via First Tower Link Road, Victoria Avenue and Pierson Road.
The Growth, Housing and Environment Department described the works as a key part of their widespread resurfacing programme.
