Royal Yacht admits breaking covid regulations

The Royal Yacht has admitted breaking the island’s covid regulations by illegally opening up its spa over the summer.

The hotel, which was represented in the Royal Court on Friday by Advocate Steven Chiddicks with its Chair, James Taylor, present, pleaded guilty to a single charge of breaking part of the covid-19 regulations, which came into force last May.

Specifically, the company behind the hotel admitted that it opened a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna facilities in its Spa Sirène between 22 June and 8 September when it was prohibited from doing so.

The Royal Yacht Hotel Ltd will be sentenced on 30 April.
