It was put in to try to stop anti-social behaviour in the heart of town but someone has already vandalised the new skating facility in the Millennium Town Park.
The person caused £500 pounds worth of damage to the guard rail and other skating equipment on Easter Monday - but CCTV footage has been handed to the police, and TTS say they're confident the vandal will be caught.
Transport and Technical Services staff worked to get it fixed in time for skaters to use this weekend and the Assistant Minister says they are now keen to find the culprit.
Deputy Richard Rondel said: “It is regrettable that this has happened, especially during the Easter school holidays.
"We've got CCTV cameras in the parks, we've forwarded that to the Police and we've said we'd like to see a prosecution, it's only been up there a month, but one person has spoilt it for hundreds of others."
A temporary skate park trialled by the Jersey Youth Service last year seemed to be a hit with skaters and they invested in new equipment when it was made a permanent feature in the ball park area.
But TTS have since had to add new features at the Bath Street end of the park to deter skaters and make sure they stick to the skate park.
Deputy Rondel says he hopes to see a bigger, "all singing, all dancing" facility for skaters at Fort Regent in the future, but that will be subject to funding.
Anyone who saw the damage being done to the park at around 2.30pm on Easter Monday is asked to call the Police.
