Victoria Avenue has unsurprisingly ranked as one of Jersey's top speeding hotspots, as the most common locations for speeding across the island are revealed.
A response to a Freedom of Information request has revealed that over 60 speeding incidents took place on Victoria Avenue between April 2022 and this year.
Of those incidents, the highest speed was recorded shortly after 06:00 on 28 February this year when a vehicle was caught driving at 70mph, breaking the Avenue's 40mph limit.
Duty Centenier for St Helier Honorary Police, Paul Davies encouraged islanders to "slow down".

He said: "Give yourself plenty of time to get to where you're going to, in an island nine miles by five it doesn't very long to get to where you are going to."
Centenier Davies confirmed that it was commonplace for speeding incidents to occur on Victoria Avenue in the early hours of the morning, due to islanders going to work at this time.
He said that speeding was "island-wide", adding that incidents near the airport were also frequent due to islanders "not going early enough" to catch their flight.

Meanwhile, Chef de Police of St Peter, Joao Camara said that the honorary police force were "proactively" dealing with speeding incidents.
"It's [speeding] is not as prevelant, we used to see lots of boy racers, that has definitley curtailed. On the five-mile road they go from La Pulente to St Ouen – they would hurtle down there.
"We are going out a lot more, we are proactively going out at different times and catch people," said Mr Camara.
He added that the force were aiming to catch islanders who were doing "excessively dangerous speeds".
