JTC Jersey Wanderers are celebrating 120 years of action with a special gala dinner.

Ossie Ardiles and Paul Miller who are the Club Ambassadors will help kick off the event at the Royal Yacht Hotel in October with a question and answer session along with talkSport presenter Alan Brazil.

The event at the Royal Yacht Hotel on 9 October will celebrate all those who have been on the ball with the club over the generations.

The Club played in their first big inter-insular game against a Guernsey team in 1896 and were one of the six teams who formed the Jersey Football League back in 1898. Over the years they have won the First Division 25 times and the Upton Park Trophy 11 times and the Club’s players have notched up 370 Muratti caps for Jersey. The Wanderers are the Island’s first FA Charter Standard Community Club.

JTC Jersey Wanderers Club President Gary Dauvin said: “It’s exciting to celebrate the success of a Club that is so steeped in heritage and tradition.  The Wanderers have come so far since they were founded 120 years ago, and we are extremely grateful to everyone who has played a part in our history, including our devoted sponsors JTC.

“Now is also a time for looking forward to the future, however, and evolving the club even further through strengthening our much-needed team of volunteers and improving the facilities we occupy. We have a loyal and dedicated team of people who have been integral in helping develop the Club to where it is today, which has given it a strong presence in the Football League and community. These individuals will continue to be vital in the future as we look to build and develop the Club even further.”

Tickets for the JTC Jersey Wanderers 120th Anniversary Dinner on Friday 9October are limited and are available to friends and contacts of the Club by emailing jerseywanderers@gmail.com. Thickets are £50 each and include a three course meal, welcome drink and all the entertainment.
