STRIKES: How will schools be affected next week?

Friday 03 May 2019

Primary and secondary schools across the island will next week be hit by two days of teacher strikes. Find out how they'll be affected here.

Next week's strikes on Tuesday and Wednesday (7 and 8 May) come as members of the National Education Union (NEU) walk out in a call for a rise in teacher wages, which have fallen behind rises in the cost of living for many years.

According to the government, unlike last week's round of strikes, no schools are due to close fully, but a number of year groups will have the day off.
