Taste buds on alert as food trucks make their way back to town

Thursday 06 April 2017

The food trucks are back in season as "Street Food Thursdays" start again from today at 12:00 with two newcomers.

Each Thursday between 12:00 and 19:00 until the 21 December, food trucks will set up in four town locations: Charing Cross, Don Street, Brook Street and Halkett Street.

Dom's Taco Truck, Wild Health, Pink Panda Van and Jersey Cupcakes, who nourished many empty bellies last year, will all be back with the addition of Romanian Delights and Mollies Cupcakes, while Don Street Deli, El Fuego and La Robelline Cider & Sausages will join starting from July. They will set up each week on a rotation basis with only four trucks in town at a time.

This is the second year the Parish of St Helier organises "Street Food Thursdays". Anna Renouf explains: "Last year, we had a really positive response. We created this to animate the town centre and go along with late night shopping on Thursdays. It's something fun in the town centre and because it happens only once a week it keeps it exciting,  as well as  being fair for cafés and restaurants in town."
