Generations joined together earlier this week for a spe-shell retelling of Aesop's classic fable 'The Tortoise and the Hare' – brought to life by the giant animal sculptures themselves.
Nursery children from La Petit École playgroup and residents from Les Charrières Care Home were treated to the tortoise-themed storytime in Howard Davis Park on Tuesday.
The story was enjoyed in the presence of the floral-themed tortoise sculpture ‘Keep Going Keep Growing’, which was was designed by Bristol-based illustator Rachel Hall.
'Keep Going, Keep Growing' was inspired by the humble tortoise's perseverance and its ability to keep plodding on through adversity – as seen in Aesop's fable.
Wildlife, landscapes and space are also a huge inspiration to artist Rachel and are often featured in her work.

Durrell’s giant hare ‘Love to Run’ hopped along for the fun, as the guests were treated to a picnic in the park prepared by the chefs from LV Care Group.
The giant hare sculpture will remain in Howard Davis Park until 14 August when he continues his adventures around the island.
LV Care Group’s COO Chris Shelton said: “We’re delighted to be hosting this storytime and picnic in the park with this group of nursery children.
"We hope they will really enjoy spending time with our fantastic work-of-art and seeing it in situ with the hare.
"The Tortoise Takeover is a fantastic community project which appeals to all ages and we’re really proud that LV Care Group is a part of it.”
